The IMHA of MD/DC invites members to become involved in committees and other initiatives within the Association. A description of the committees can be found below. Membership Engagement Committee: The Membership Engagement Committee is established by the Board of Directors to strengthen and expand membership within the Infant Mental Health Association of Maryland and DC. The committee aims to foster connections, increase member involvement, and advance the organization’s mission by ensuring members feel supported, valued, and engaged.
Professional Development Committee: The Professional Development Committee is established by the Board of Directors to support the mission of Infant Mental Health Association of Maryland and DC by fostering opportunities for the professional growth of its members and the broader infant mental health community. A key aspect of the committee’s work includes assisting in the planning and execution of the association's annual conference.
Endorsement Committee: The Endorsement Committee is established by the Board of Directors to oversee the Infant/Early Childhood Mental Health Endorsement (IMH-E®). This committee ensures the endorsement process maintains its integrity, aligns with the association’s mission, and supports the professional development of individuals working in the field of infant and early childhood mental health.
Public Policy Committee: The Public Policy/Advocacy Committee is established by the Board of Directors to advance the mission of Infant Mental Health Association of Maryland and DC by influencing public policy, advocating for the needs of infants, young children, and their families, and raising awareness of infant mental health issues among policymakers and stakeholders.
Finance Committee: The Finance Committee is established by the Board of Directors to ensure the financial health and sustainability of the Infant Mental Health Association of Maryland and DC. The committee provides oversight of the organization’s financial planning, budgeting, and reporting, ensuring alignment with the association’s mission and goals.
Governance Committee: The Governance Committee is established by the Board of Directors to oversee and enhance the governance structure and practices of the Infant Mental Health Association of Maryland and DC. The committee ensures compliance with best practices, strengthens board effectiveness, and manages nominations and elections for board and committee positions.
